To capture more than just the standard job titles, we asked each teammate to write another’s bio. Framed around five key prompts, they reveal not only what we do, but who we are…
Small in stature, but mighty in presence, Luan somehow manages to look polished without even trying, usually while juggling ten things at once. She has a unique, endearing charisma that’s hard to put into words, but once you’ve met her, you’ll know exactly what we mean.
Luan graduated with a management degree, unsure of exactly where her career would take her. She soon found herself working for a corporate estate agency, and the rest is history. That was 17 years ago! Looking back, she’ll still say the training, discipline, and sheer resilience needed to survive in that world was the best (and most gruelling) platform anyone could ask for. But treating clients like numbers and pushing products designed to serve shareholders rather than people also shaped her in another way – it showed her exactly the kind of agent she didn’t want to be.
After five years, she made the leap into independent agency, where she could put people, not shareholders, at the heart of her work. Today, Luan is the driving force behind The LARK Partnership. Her role spans every corner of the business, and her meticulous nature and unwavering commitment to doing the very best for clients makes her the team’s cornerstone.
In terms of what Luan does around here? Basically, just imagine everything involved in being an estate agent, mentoring a team, and running your own business; she’s got her hands on it or, at the very least, a sharp eye on it. She’s grounded too. Nothing is beneath her – she’s still happy to clean the office (which we’re pretty sure she secretly loves) and make the teas and coffees. Honestly, if there were medals for multitasking, she’d have a cabinet full of them by now. But that willingness to pitch in, paired with her experience in every role, means she never loses sight of the challenges the rest of the team are working through.
For Luan, work is about more than just getting the job done, it’s about doing it right, and doing the right thing. She approaches her work with strength of character, a wealth of knowledge, and relentless drive. She inspires confidence in clients and colleagues alike and sets the standard for the team’s values.
In a word: improvement. Luan has her sights set on shaking up the property industry itself. Outdated systems? She’s coming for them. Inefficient processes? Consider them warned. Government red tape? Let’s just say they should probably start preparing. The flaws of the industry drive Luan’s determination – weak standards, patchy regulation, no clear process, and timelines that feel endless. “It’s no wonder people are confused,” she often says, and it’s why she’s so focused on doing things differently. She genuinely enjoys building systems and spotting gaps most people would overlook. If it’s not streamlined, Luan will fix it, usually before breakfast.
What clients value most, though, is her knowledge. Her niche is the complex listed homes, period properties, tricky boundaries, covenants, easements, private drainage systems, short leases, survey findings, shared driveways – you name it. If it’s thorny, Luan will already be in your corner finding the solution. She thinks logically, sees clearly what needs to be done, and then just gets it sorted. But beyond the technical side, she understands that not everyone moves for happy reasons. A bereavement, a separation, financial pressures, these are often the most difficult moves of all. Her ability to connect with people and quietly do the very best by them is both unbelievable and, at times, an art to observe. Her negotiation skills are a mastered art form too, with sellers and buyers alike walking away feeling like winners. And while the job naturally comes with its fair share of difficult conversations, one thing’s for certain: Luan never shies away from them, in fact, she somehow makes even the toughest conversations feel strangely constructive.
‘Estate Agency Powerhouse & Babybel Bandit’
She’s an estate agency powerhouse; the one you want in your corner when things get complicated, emotional, or downright messy. Whether it’s unravelling a legal tangle, guiding clients through tough decisions, or negotiating outcomes where everyone walks away happy, she does it all with grit, grace, and precision. But don’t be fooled into thinking it’s all viewings and valuations. The team knows her other (less official) superpower; let’s just say if you’ve brought Babybels into the office, don’t turn your back. No Babybel is safe when Luan’s around, and she’s not even sorry about it!
